Wishful Gardener

I have been mourning the loss of my rhubarb plant at the end of this terrible growing season. Well...it's not dead, but it didn't produce anything either! I am still waiting until the soil is dry-ish to harvest my tiny carrot crop *sigh*.

But....I have been inspired! I stumbled along Cubit's, a lovely Etsy shop, just full of the most gorgeous seeds.  As soon as I live in a home with real sun and a real garden, I am going to place a big order! This coming Spring I will definitely try one new thing as well. She even has Purple Dragon Carrots! What kid could resist those???? This makes me think it's time to conquer my shady garden and almost black thumb.

I was drooling over her Rainbow Chard when I saw white squash, purple tomatillos, chocolate peppers and watermelon radishes. And most everything is organic.

I am thinking of putting a few seeds in my own stocking and thought someone else might want to do the same!

Treasury Features

I'm trying to figure out how one keeps a crafting/homemaking blog interesting when an injured shoulder prevents any work from getting done! The good news is that I'm back at about 90% and should be crafting again by the end of the week.

For now...here are the first treasuries that I've been featured in:
The Natural Child by mariescottage and Seller's Favorites by AngelicaV

Coming soon are black and orange gnomes for October and more teething rings in lots of colors.

What do you think of the girl gnome with hair? I would have to charge more but I think she's kind of cute.

And what about a black and orange teething ring? Too weird? Maybe just orange....

New Look for the Blog!

Now that I have a logo, I am working on my branding. Of course....this means a new look for Tutorial Adventures!

I finally figured out how to put text onto my banner.
First: Copy your banner and paste it in powerpoint.
Next: Add a text box and type in your text.
Then: Hold command while clicking on the textbox and image. Right click. Choose: Grouping>Group
Lastly: Right click: Save as Picture>jpg

Voila!

I also have a new Flikr Account and Facebook Page. I still can't bring myself to open a Twitter account...

I received a few new stamps in the mail today, and am looking forward to making a new matching game. That's one thing I can do with a bum shoulder. Happily, it's starting to heal, so I'm hoping next week I will be able to whip up a few black and orange gnome sets. Etsy loves black and orange in the Fall!

One more mention...I got my gift this week from my Crafty Goodness Swap Partner. She didn't send any info, so I all can do is shout into cyberspace and hope she hears...
"THANKS KAITLYN!"

Blog Feature!

I have my first blog feature today! Lindy at of the Etsy Alberta Street Team just posted a new member interview for me!

I'm all excited and want to make more things to put in my shop...but alas. Must rest the shoulder.

Thanks Lindy!

Poor Shoulder...

Well...it seems I have crocheted the heck out of my rotator cuff. My chiropractor says not to do anything for a few days or I could end up with frozen shoulder and have to do ART. Booo. This after 3 days away from crafting, and making ONE cowl. Seriously?

I'm a little stressed about getting everything for my craft sale to come together with this injury. Hope it heals up soon.

On the bright side, I get to be pampered by my hubby and have a great excuse for not cooking or doing the dishes...

Hopefully more crafty blogging will follow soon. In the meantime, here is some inspiration from a few members of Etsy Alberta Street team!

New Logo and More

I have been getting a bit desperate for a logo and finally hired a very talented friend for the job. I cannot believe what a great job he did! It is better than I could have imagined.

Now I have to figure out how to use it, make some fabric labels, order a rubber stamp....

My next big news is that I booked my first Craft fair! I was really hoping to get into the Waldorf School's Holiday Faire, but they book up in May (I way missed that deadline). So I started scouting out community center craft sales and discovered they book up much later. I am one part excited, one part curious and one part freaking out because there is so much to do!!!!

I could also use some help on finding a cheap, free or borrowed standing coat rack...thoughts? And how could I DIY my own Logo'd poster to put up on my easel for the fair? I am not digitally savvy and am spending so much money on supplies that I'd rather not outsource it if I can do it myself!

I spent the afternoon (Daniel's first day of preschool!) cutting out pattern pieces for 48 gnome heads and really want to sew them up tonight, even though my eyes are like sandpaper and we are going away for the weekend...off I go!

Newlywed Aprons

Aren't these cute? An apron set for my newlywed friends. Just matchy enough.
